We help women thrive, despite HIV

An HIV+ diagnosis in India can still feel like hitting a dead end. The stigma can leave women feeling isolated and hopeless. That's where we come in. To help them and their children survive and thrive, despite HIV.

Living with dignity

Ours is an all women community-based organisation where members, who also live with HIV, come together to support one another. When you donate or buy any of our products, you help us stay healthy, safe, and provide for our families.

Prevention outreach

We set up free clinics and referrals for affordable treatment and care. We also conduct multiple outreach programs to educate both the general public and at-risk populations about the risks of HIV infection.

Care and support

We assist people living with HIV and AIDS with not only care and treatment but also with counselling, nutrition, legal support, foster care and active advocacy on their behalf.

Livelihood opportunities

Cheyutha EcoCrafts, is our social enterprise where our members, particularly widows and single mothers, find a dignified income for their handmade products.

Two ways you can give

We rely on funding and donations from the wider community to provide our range of support services and to create livelihood opportunities for our women members.

Financial donation of any amount Rs. 500 & up

Your support. Your impact.

When you join our mission, you give life another chance. Women like Shanti even come back to serve with us.

In 2011, Shanti's life became a struggle. Diagnosed with HIV with her husband, her biggest concern was her three daughters. Education was their hope, and that's what led them to Cheyutha in 2019.

Her eldest daughter got a scholarship from the government to join a Fine Arts School. But at home, things were difficult for her other daughters. Shanti's husband was abusive. Our counsellors tried to mend things, but it wasn't working. In 2020, we helped them get a divorce, prioritizing the girls' safety.

This was a new start for Shanti. Through Cheyutha, she got a job at the youth centre, a safe space with a steady income. We covered her second daughter's school fees. Another Cheyutha family stepped in to sponsor her youngest daughter's education. Today, all three girls are in school.

Shanti's smile says it all. She's free from abuse, her daughters are safe, and their education is secure. All this was made possible through our generous donors.
